Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has revealed his plans for a series of engagements during his return to the UK this week.
The Duke, who stepped down as a working Royal in 2020, is back in London for the annual Wellchild Awards on Monday evening. On Tuesday, he will travel to Nottingham to support BBC Children in Need.
He will revisit a community recording studio, which he last toured in October 2019 – just two months before he and Meghan Markle announced their decision to step down as senior working royals and relocate to North America.
During his visit, he will participate in several engagements and make a significant donation to the broadcaster’s charity to aid its work combating violence impacting young people.
It remains uncertain whether Harry, who is estranged from his brother, the Prince of Wales, will reunite with the King during his stay.
The duke is set to be in London on Monday, marking the third anniversary of the late Queen’s passing, for the annual WellChild Awards. As a long-standing patron of the charity, this cause holds a special place in his heart.
He will then journey to Nottingham on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Harry has scheduled a private briefing with Children in Need, the Police and Crime Commission, the CRS, and the community outreach group Epic Partners in Nottingham.
He plans to reconnect informally with some of the young people he’s met previously, watch performances from CRS artists, and deliver a brief speech.
The duke aims to unite key stakeholders, influencers, and potential funders to highlight the work of grassroots organizations like CRS and Epic Partners, as well as the sports apprenticeship body Coach Core.
Coach Core was initially launched as a program by William, Harry, and the now-Princess of Wales’s joint Royal Foundation in 2012. The initiative leverages the power of sport to transform lives and train young apprentices.
Since then, it has evolved into an independent charity. Harry and Meghan parted ways with William and Kate’s Royal Foundation in 2019 amidst rumors of a falling out.
