Prince Harry is reportedly uncomfortable with Meghan Markle’s decision to profit from selling outfits she wore to the Invictus Games — the charity founded by the Duke of Sussex himself.
Earlier this year, the Duchess of Sussex invested in the shopping app One Off, establishing her own dedicated page on the platform. Through this page, Meghan showcases her wardrobe choices to fans, reportedly pocketing between 10 and 20% commission on purchases made via the app.
Among the outfits featured are several she donned at the Invictus Games in Canada last year.
The fact that she is financially benefiting from attire worn at the charitable event founded by her own husband has sparked controversy, with insiders revealing Harry is “uncomfortable” with her conduct.
A source told Heat: “Meghan’s latest move is really blurring the lines between philanthropy and personal gain. If the profits went back to Invictus, there’d be no questions, but they’re going into her bank account, and that has definitely raised a few eyebrows.”
The insider continued: “It’s seen as very bad form. Invictus is about raising money for veterans – men and women who have given these huge sacrifices and lost so much.
“Harry will always try to stand up for Meghan, but this is making him deeply uncomfortable. Aside from his children and Meghan, he says that leading Invictus gives him the most purpose. It’s one of the few things he’s associated with that still carries a lot of public goodwill.”
While Harry is reportedly troubled by the matter, Meghan has apparently chosen to ignore the backlash. The insider told Heat that Meghan advised Harry to develop a tougher exterior when dealing with the criticism the pair face.
The couple’s next scheduled public appearance is at an Invictus Games event in July, marking a one-year countdown in the UK ahead of the 2027 Invictus Games, set to take place in Birmingham.
Both Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, are anticipated to be in attendance.
