Meghan Markle has left fans rolling their eyes once again after she shared a video of her celebrating the Los Angeles Dodgers’ World Series win on Saturday.
Taking to Instagram, the former Suits star, 44, posted a black-and-white video of her cheering the team on, showing her shrieking and frolicking around before she ran over to her husband, Prince Harry, 41, who was sitting on a reclining chair with his feet up and looked far from impressed.
After bending down to give him a hug and a kiss, she jumped up and down with her close friend, Kelly McKee Zajfen, in excitement, screaming, “Oh my God,” as Harry giggled at her.
While the video was a bit of fun, fans felt quite the opposite and took to social media to vent their annoyance at Meghan.
Taking to X, one person fumed, “So she staged this for sad people like Donna! Was wondering why set up a tripod and post, now I know!”
“I know it’s amazing to see, especially when the phone is set up so she’s front and centre,” a second user sarcastically wrote.
Another person said, “Wish there is a word for the combination of fake, grift, and cringe that’s always seeking attention,” while a fourth pointed out, “Harry in Montecito living his own Truman Show. The one thing he’s been running from since Day 1!”
Prince Harry‘s reaction in particular caught the eye of body language expert Judi James. Speaking exclusively to Express US, Judi noted, “Then there’s the setting. Who lies reclined for the last moments of a nail-biting sporting final? If you’re a fan, it’s usually an edge-of-the-seat response as you prepare yourself for a celebratory body language explosion.
“Harry lies back and disassociates from the action here, which could be a loser’s sulk although he does seem to take it too far considering they have a guest. Or is he less of a fan of the ‘hidden’ reality camera in his own home?” Judi continued.
“And where does Meghan enter from? Was she off to fill the crisp bowl during the win? Or was she setting the camera up to record herself creeping and leaping?” the expert then asked, adding, “She enters on tiptoe from stage left with her back arched and her arms outstretched to go and hug Harry’s head while he churlishly virtually ignores her with his eyes still on the screen. What happened to: I’m happy for you, darling?”
“There’s a central celebratory dance ritual from her that lures her friend to stand and jump and hug obligingly with lots of shrieking,” Judi continued before pointing out, “Harry’s wry smile looks annoyingly trad-macho here and there’s a hint that Meghan might actually have been waiting to film his reaction if his team had won.
“But his reluctance to join in with anything other than this wry smile suggests he’s not generous enough to join his wife in her winning dance, apart from throwing a weak smile in her direction,” Judi concluded.
