Prince Harry is keen to return to his home country after “making peace” with his father, King Charles, during his recent U.K. visit. However, it seems Meghan Markle is still not on board with his plan and is reluctant to make the move. The Duke of Sussex is trying his best to convince Markle to visit the royal family with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Sources told Star that Harry is “dead-set” on bringing his children to meet their grandpa. He “won’t take no for an answer from his wife.” The 41-year-old duke has even informed his father about his plans to return. Even Markle is “being open to a meeting with the royals down the line.”
But if things don’t go as planned, “it would be a major embarrassment.” As per the insider, Harry has “promised his father they’ll all come back in due course so he can meet Archie, Lili and catch up with Meghan.”
The source admitted that Harry knows the former actress is “nervous, but says it’s time to swallow her pride.” And to convince his wife, the author has been “trying to reassure Meghan that she’s still very liked in a lot of royal circles.” Thus, despite their hectic schedule, the couple is “figuring out logistics and seeing if they can squeeze in a low-key trip before the holidays.”
After leaving royal duties in 2020, the couple settled in Montecito, California, living on their own terms. Markle last visited the U.K. in 2022 for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. However, according to various reports, Harry wants to return following his recent visit to London. Moreover, he even wants his kids to attend the schools there due to the quality of the education system.
