Prince Harry appeared to show off his cheeky side alongside his wife Meghan Markle during a rare joint appearance in New York City on Thursday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, known for their public displays of affection, were spotted arriving hand-in-hand at the annual Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Gala.
The couple, who have been married for seven years, were honored with the Humanitarians of the Year award for their work through the Archewell Foundation to make the digital world safer for young people and their families.
As they posed on the red carpet, Harry was seen playfully touching Meghan’s backside, as reported by HELLO! After a word from Meghan, Harry adjusted his hands higher on her hip.
Meghan stunned in a minimalist black Armani suit and chunky gold necklace, while Harry complemented her look in a black suit, white shirt, and black tie.
After analysing the couple on the red carpet, Hickling said one moment “hints at an off-camera strain between them.”
The lip reader said, “Meghan turns to Harry, waiting for a moment, hoping to catch his attention and trying to avoid the cameras. She says quickly, ‘We have to look together now.’ he replies softly, ‘Yeah,’ and shifts his footing.”

A third pointed out, “I didn’t listen to a word, but the energy shows they’re competing with each other.”
Meanwhile, body language expert Judi James believes that Harry and Meghan were completely comfortable at the awards ceremony, sharing with the Mirror, “This is Harry and Meghan in pared-back, more understated mode to accept their award and do some ongoing campaigning too.
“Their body language is suitably simple too, although their facial expressions suggest some pride in their joint profile and some personal pride from Meghan towards her husband.”
The body language expert observed that Meghan appeared captivated by Harry, while the pair also seemed to be basking in their return to public attention for such a meaningful event.
“It’s her raised and rounded cheeks that form this look of pride and a sense of self-satisfaction here as she looks up at Harry,” she noted.
“His asymmetric, closed lip smile reflects the seriousness of their campaign, although his demeanor also reflects a sense of pleasure at being in the spotlight to promote it.”
Just hours after their appearance, Meghan and Harry made a second joint appearance on October 10, at the annual World Mental Health Day Festival.
The couple’s latest appearances in the US come just days after Meghan stepped out at Paris Fashion Week – and weeks after Harry’s visit to the UK.
