When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged vows at St George’s Chapel in 2018, they climbed into their Royal carriage as newlyweds and started their procession through Windsor’s streets, as thousands of devoted fans crowded the route, hoping to see the newly married pair.
However, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex departed, Harry delivered a somewhat awkward and frank remark to his new bride during a fleeting moment of reality amid the Royal spectacle.
After the celebrity-filled ceremony, the pair appeared at the chapel’s entrance and exchanged their first married kiss to enthusiastic cheering.
The prince – dressed in form-fitting military pants known as overalls – then delivered a lighthearted observation to his new spouse as they entered their carriage, Royal writers Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed in their book Finding Freedom.
Scobie and Durand documented the newlyweds’ differing reactions, “Lifting her hand to her chest, Meghan had just one word when she saw the huge crowds gathered on the grounds of the castle, ‘Wow.'”
“Sitting down in the carriage beside his bride, Harry laughed that his trousers were ‘too tight,'” they added.
Professional lip readers confirmed their account, indicating that he had voiced further grievances about his military uniform being somewhat undersized while standing by to welcome Meghan at the altar.
Lip readers previously revealed that as the Duke waited nervously at the altar for his bride, he turned to his best man and brother, Prince William, saying, “I’m alright,” before adding jokingly, “my trousers are too tight.”
Experts in lip reading also claimed that after the horse-drawn carriage completed its journey up Windsor’s Long Walk, Harry remarked to Meghan, “I’m ready for a drink now.”

As Meghan sat beside Harry in their carriage, she seemingly exclaimed, “Oh f—!” while placing her hand over her chest.

The Daily Star reported she “couldn’t be blamed for her reaction” given the “incredible scenes” of thousands of supporters chanting her name.
