Prince Harry vehemently denied recent allegations surrounding his meeting with King Charles III and accused certain sources of deliberately trying to undermine his efforts at mending ties with his family.
During a four-day trip to the UK earlier this month, the 41-year-old Duke of Sussex met face-to-face with the monarch, 76, at Clarence House in what was their first meeting in more than a year.
The nearly hour-long meeting was viewed as a significant step towards healing the strained relationship between the Prince and his family following his decision to step down as a working Royal after marrying Meghan Markle.
Following the Sept. 10 encounter, an insider alleged that Harry was taken aback by the “distinctly formal” nature of the meeting, even joking that he felt more like an “official visitor” than a family member.
However, the Duke has now dismissed these claims as “categorically false” and also refuted the claim that he presented his father with a picture of that showed him, his wife and their children Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.
A spokesperson for Harry told the Daily Mail, “Recent reporting of The Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false.
“The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.
“Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged.
“While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess.”
The King hasn’t seen his grandchildren since the Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, as Harry has expressed concerns about their safety traveling to the UK, especially after the Sussexes lost their taxpayer-funded security upon stepping back from Royal duties.
In return, it was revealed that the King presented Harry with a gift for his 41st birthday.
Despite no current plans for public appearances together or for Harry to assume a Royal role, the King remains open to future private meetings when Harry is in London.
During his recent visit, the Duke attended numerous charity events in Nottingham and London before joining his father for afternoon tea.

A spokesman for Harry said the trip was primarily about supporting his patronages and good causes, while also providing an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends.
This meeting marked the first face-to-face encounter between Harry and Charles since February 2024, when the Duke made a quick trip across the Atlantic following the King’s cancer diagnosis.
Many view this as a potential step towards reconciliation, echoing Harry’s sentiments from a BBC interview in May when he said “I would love a reconciliation with my family.”
He further state, “I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
During his four-day trip, Prince Harry did not meet with his brother William due to an ongoing feud between the two that shows no signs of resolution.
The Prince, who stepped away from Royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California with his wife Meghan, made a series of accusations against his family in his recent Netflix documentary and autobiography titled Spare.
According to Harry, during a tense meeting following Prince Philip’s funeral, Charles pleaded with his sons, “Please, boys. Don’t make my final years a misery.”
