Prince Harry may be closer than ever to a reunion with the royal family following a significant legal win in his long running fight over security in the UK.
The Royal and VIP Executive Committee, known as Ravec and overseen by the Home Office, conducted a new risk assessment and determined that Harry, 41, now meets the threshold for official police protection during visits to Britain.
The Duke of Sussex previously lost his court challenge after Ravec ruled he was no longer eligible for state funded security because he is no longer considered a working royal. Harry later appeared for a two-day hearing in May and his legal team argued that his life was at risk without proper protection.

After the initial ruling, Harry was reportedly “devastated,” according to a report from Page Six, and blamed the Royal Household for influencing the decision.
When a frightening incident occurred during a visit to London in September, The Independent reported that Harry wrote to Home Secretary’s Shabana Mahmood after a stalker, who had previously made online threats, managed to get past a secure zone and get “within a stone’s throw” of Harry when he attended a WellChild charity event.
Days later, the same individual allegedly attempted to approach Harry again during his visit to Imperial College London and was only stopped by the duke’s personal security team.

Because of those incidents, Ravec reassessed Harry’s risk level.
Harry has previously expressed his feelings about the removal of royal security and maintained that the UK was unsafe for him and his family, including wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.
The couple stepped back from their senior royal duties in 2020 and now live in California.
