Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had plenty of grievances with the royals over how they were treated compared to the other members.
The Duke of Sussex was particularly unhappy with how the royal acted towards Meghan and the campaign that was waged against her. The 2018 royal wedding was particularly surrounded by drama, which allegedly have birt of the rift that inflated over the years.
Harry reveals much of the incident in his book Spare, but new details suggest there was a lot more than went down before the royal wedding in 2018.
A trusted aide of Queen Elizabeth II, Angela Kelly, gave an account of events which suggests that Harry may have ruined a relationship Meghan could have had with the royals by his own doing.
After the couple had announced their engagements, they appeared for their formal engagement photographs at Kensington Palace’s garden, followed by the customary television interview. Though, they did not have tea with the press like William and Kate had done for theirs.
Then came the matter of the tiara. The Queen “would pick out a small selection which she thought would suit that bride and ask her round to try them on and choose one,” the former staffer said, via Robert Hardman’s book.
“It was her lovely way of bonding with the bride. She did it with Sophie [Rhys-Jones] and with Catherine [Middleton]. But there wasn’t that bonding with Meghan because she turned up with Prince Harry.”
Angela claimed no one was quite sure why Harry was present there with Meghan. Even though Harry claimed in Spare that it was a joint invitation, insiders dismissed the notion.
