This divide, which sources say has persisted since before Harry abandoned Royal duties in 2020, became glaringly apparent just last week when the Duke of Sussex traveled to the UK without reconnecting with his older sibling. Harry instead arranged a meeting with King Charles, deliberately excluding William from the encounter.

That element is trust, as the couple remains deeply suspicious of Harry following his numerous public statements about the Royal Family over the past five years, including appearances on the Netflix series Harry and Meghan, his sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, and revelations in his tell-all book Spare.
The insider disclosed to US Weekly: “There is still ongoing tension with William and Kat. They are deeply hurt by the public disclosures, memoir revelations and interviews and criticisms of their roles, which they perceive as breaches of trust that require significant time to heal from, which is why they aren’t there yet.”
“William and Kate haven’t initiated or responded to outreach from Harry at all. They do need more time. There’s emotional distance between the three of them.”
The insider also indicated that the couple will reconnect with Harry once they can trust him again. It’s speculated that they are waiting to see if Harry reveals any details about his conversation with his father during their meeting last week, marking the first time the two have met face-to-face since February 2024.
The source stated: “They will see how things pan out with what Charles and Harry discussed.
“One of the things was to keep his mouth shut and not talk to the press, and for Meghan to do the same. Once William and Kate can trust again, they may be able to come back into his life.”
