Princess Anne isn’t just the hardest working royal, she is the coolest royal, which made us wonder why she isn’t talked about as much.
Anne is sassy and says it how it is, she is the best out of the bunch, but when it comes to royal watching, people seem to look the other way.
At first, it seemed like this may be a case of agism, but when speaking to royal expert Pauline Maclaran, it appears the reason is far more simpler, Anne lives a drama-free lifestyle, which doesn’t make for good gossip.
Maclaran, royal author and Professor at Royal Holloway, said: “Yes, her age is certainly a factor but also the fact that she is a very down-to-earth figure who has no patience for any fashionable trappings of glamor.”
She added: “In addition, her life is very private so there’s not much scope for gossip. Consequently, she’s of little interest to the media and generally seems to be overlooked.”
Recently, Anne was spotted at a lingerie store, and that did get tongues wagging, but the royal was there on official business as President of the UK Fashion and Textile Association.
Anne is a senior working royal, she is the sister of the reigning monarch, our vote is for Anne, we would like to see more of her, and it’s not just us, we also spoke to Brittani Barger, co-founder of Royal News, who concurs.
Barger said: “I do think Princess Anne should be talked about more. She does so much and focuses on very important things. For example, she’s patron of MND Scotland, which doesn’t seem to get a lot of coverage. ALS (MND in the UK) is such a horrible disease.”
According to Barger, if people were to pay more attention to Anne, then the charities would benefit.
She explained: “It’s one of the cruelest diseases out there, and Anne’s support and coverage of it could go a long way to help. There are other charities or organizations that could benefit the same way.”

And when it comes to Anne working quietly, and shunning the public eye, Ian Pelham Turner has a difference of opinion, saying Anne has been quite vocal when it comes to division of labor.
Pelham Turner, former royal photographer, said: “Ann now has even resorted to publicly admonishing in speeches how many royal award ceremonies she administers compared to Prince William wondering why this was happening when he lived on the doorstep of the proceedings, whilst she had a long drive from Gatcombe Park in order to attend.”
Exactly, Anne says it how it is, and when she speaks, people listen, and we would like to see more of that.
