Princess Beatrice and her four-year-old daughter, Sienna, visited Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor for a horse ride on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Pictures show the former Duke of York riding ahead of Beatrice, who was walking beside her daughter.
The family group spent more than 45 minutes on Saturday enjoying Home Park in the shadow of Windsor Castle, but Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, was nowhere to be seen. It is thought that Beatrice and Sienna also spent time at Royal Lodge, which Andrew and Sarah Ferguson will soon vacate.
The visit comes after both Beatrice and Eugenie snubbed Christmas with their parents but spent time alongside their own families at Sandringham with King Charles and wider Royal Family members.
Beatrice’s show of support for her father comes amid claims that Princess Eugenie, 35, has severed contact with her dad. However, the Sun understands that she has been to see him in recent weeks.
A friend of the Princesses told the outlet: “It is completely untrue she has cut him off. She has seen him several times this year and is supportive. She is there for her father whenever he needs her.”
Last week, Andrew made a trip to Marsh Farm to see his new home. It is believed Andrew will have fully vacated Royal Lodge before his birthday on February 19, when its keys will be handed back to King Charles.
Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, 66, is also due to leave Royal Lodge, but it was not yet known where she will live. Sarah has lived with her disgraced ex-husband in the Grade II-listed mansion since 2008, despite their 1996 divorce.
This decision followed renewed, intense scrutiny regarding Andrew’s past links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The publication of a posthumous memoir by accuser Virginia Giuffre, which included accusations of sexual assault, exacerbated the scandal. Andrew continues to deny all accusations made against him.
