EXCLUSIVE: Prologue Entertainment, the independent film and television studio behind Netflix thrillers Zero Day and A House of Dynamite, is expanding its ranks, naming Ken Segna as Head of Television. In the newly created role, Segna will oversee TV development with an emphasis on building and expanding Prologue’s studio slate across series and roster of creative partnerships.
This marks the first senior hire for Prologue, the company founded in 2024 by Lloyd Braun, Sarah Bremner and Noah Oppenheim, as it evolves into a full service studio. Segna will report to Bremner.
Most recently, Segna was Head of Television for Lee Daniels Entertainment, where he oversaw a development team packaging and selling series under the company’s first-look deal with 20th Television, with projects developed at FX, Hulu, Starz, ABC, Disney+, and Onyx. Previously, he served as EVP of Development at MRC Television, where he oversaw the development, packaging, and sale of both limited and ongoing series, including The Terminal List, The Shrink Next Door, Poker Face, The Shining Girls, Time Bandits, and Hello Tomorrow!.
Earlier in his career, Segna spent nearly a decade at Starz where he oversaw development and production on some of the network’s most defining original series, including Power. He got his start as a producer of music videos, commercials, and the feature documentary Ain’t in It for My Health: A Film About Levon Helm. He holds a B.S. in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University and an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California.
Segna is the latest addition to Prologue’s growing team, joining Creative Executive Quinn Wilcox and Director of Creative Affairs Sammy Rosenthal.
Wilcox previously worked in UCP’s development department, contributing to multiple projects across the studio’s slate. Early in his career, Wilcox was a part of the production company 3AD, where he worked on ABC’s The Good Doctor, and he served as an assistant in the physical production department at APA (now IAG).
Rosenthal joined Prologue after nearly seven years at Oscar- and Emmy-nominated producer Lynette Howell Taylor’s company 51 Entertainment (Roofman, The Accountant 2) as an executive and producer. While at 51 Entertainment, Rosenthal worked across both film and television, shepherding development at Searchlight Pictures and Fifth Season. She began her career at UTA.
Backed by Jeff Zucker and RedBird Capital Partners, Prologue is building out a diverse slate and recently announced first look agreements for film and series with The Atlantic and best-selling espionage writer David McCloskey.
