Prom and pop music events coming to Shropshire Petal Fields

They will take place at Shropshire Petal Fields in Newport before the popular flower field festival opens, with plans underway for an orchestral proms night and a tribute evening.

On Friday, July 31, Pop in the Petals will feature an ABBA tribute performance by ABBASensation, with organisers encouraging fancy dress and dancing.

The following night, Proms in the Petals: Films & Musicals Edition will bring a 50-piece orchestra led by conductor Bedwyn Phillips to the fields for an open-air concert of songs from film, stage, and screen.

Beth Heath from Shropshire Festivals, said: "Our festivals evolve every year to keep them fresh and interesting, so we wanted to add something extra special to this year’s offering at Shropshire Petal Fields.

"For one very special evening, come and enjoy music from movie soundtracks and musical theatre favourites played by some incredibly talented musicians.

"There will be wonderful music, an amazing view, a stocked bar, and an unforgettable experience."
