Dune: Prophecy has announced new cast members coming to the world of House Harkonnen.
HBO has announced that Indira Varma, Ashley Walters and Tom Hollander are joining returning Season 1 cast members Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, Yerin Ha, Barbara Marten and Tessa Bonham Jones.
Inspired by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s novel Sisterhood of Dune, the first season gave fans an expansive look at the time before the current Dune storyline, in which the Bene Gesserit is just about to be established.

From the expansive universe of Dune, created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, DUNE: PROPHECY follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled order that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.
Alison Schapker serves as showrunner and executive producer. Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, Kevin Lau, Monica Owusu-Breen, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns and Jon Spaihts also executive produce with Frank Herbert estate members Herbert, Bryan Merritt and Kim Herbert. Anderson co-produces.
What the cast previously told us about the show
Chloe Lea, who plays a member of the Sisterhood, Sister Lila, told Blavity’s Shadow and Act last November that the series was a “sharp learning curve” for her when it came to learning about the Dune lore.
“I wasn’t not a fan. I just [wasn’t] clued up. I hadn’t done all of my homework on the Dune world. And like you say, it’s vast, and it’s detailed, and coming into this and working on it, it has really ignited an interest in it and finding out more. We found out loads on set, and our showrunner, Alison, is a fountain of knowledge about the ‘Duniverse,’” she said. “It’s been really interesting learning just how vast it is, and the possibilities are kind of endless.”
She also said the series is all about exploring the gray areas of morality, saying, “…I feel like it’s not as simple as knowing if [the main characters are] good guys or bad guys, or if you’re on their side or not.”
“I feel that’s also interesting with a character like Lila, who genuinely wants to do the right thing by everyone,” Lea said. “It’s interesting to see how that directly affects her and her actions throughout the show.”
