The pop singer looked back on “143” as more than a record, describing it as her “I love you” to her listeners. She also called songs snapshots of where she was at the time.

For Perry, the past year has been full of personal upheaval. In June, the singer ended her seven-year relationship with actor Orlando Bloom. Though she didn’t mention Bloom directly, Perry hinted at the transition in the comments of her post, “Whatever comes next, I’m letting it unfold naturally. No forcing, no controlling – just trusting the angels, the fans, and the music to guide me where I’m meant to go.”

She admitted her time in the spotlight has had a dual side — while she felt the joy of being celebrated, she also struggled with the challenge of being scrutinized. Perry confessed, “Through my years in the spotlight, I have been beloved, tested and tried.” The lasting lesson for her has been to keep moving, even when things fall short.
