HarbourView said Thursday that the deal encompasses both Jones’ recorded and publishing assets, as well as his participation in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where he was an executive producer. The deal also includes a partnership regarding Jones’ name, image and likeness rights.
Jones, who died in 2024, is regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of the music business. Among his production discography are records for the likes of Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer and Michael Jackson, producing some of the latter’s most iconic works including Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad.
