Raye drops new album featuring 'Where is My Husband' single

It may not feel like spring just yet, but the Rayes of light are coming through.

British singer-songwriter Raye dropped her second studio album Friday, March 27. A kaleidoscopic venture into the inner mind of a woman confident-then-not, hopeful-then-not, and above all else, honest about it, the 17-track project includes her viral hit “Where Is My Husband!”

“This Music May Contain Hope,” out now on major streaming platforms, evokes a stormy winter night in the singer’s native London, tempestuous in its emotion and painted with a film noir vibe in its sonics. Not squarely in any one genre, the project blends a jazzy score with confessional lyrics and an occasional voice memo from Raye setting the scene.

“You know, life isn’t always easy, it’s not always simple,” the 28-year-old songstress told Apple Music ahead of the album’s release. “I’m trying to make music to kind of help us through some of the harder times in life.”

With features from Hans Zimmer, Al Green, and even her grandfather Michael, the music feels like a conversation – between Raye and her fans, her lovers future and past, and her family, as she grapples with the difficulty of modern romance and womanhood in a world primed for insecurity.

Raye was nominated for three Grammy awards at the February award show, capping off a meteoric rise to fame.

She swept 2025’s Brit Awards (the U.K.’s Grammy equivalent) with six trophies, including best album, breaking Adele’s record for the most wins in one night.

“As soon as you’re even old enough to envision that for yourself, you picture the ludicrous idea of one day having one of those beautiful, gold-plated gramophones with the etching of your name on the side,” Raye told USA TODAY of her Grammy nominations. “I was like, ‘Will I ever be able to make something that cuts through enough that I could be recognized at the most prestigious music awards?’ It means everything.”
