Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, offered support to her brother-in-law Joseph Duggar after his recent arrest.
“You’ve got our prayers. We love you — however we can help, please let us know,” Anna, 37, wrote to Joseph, 31, on March 21, per email records obtained by Us Weekly from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Arkansas. “I think I put some money on your books. I don’t remember how phone calls and video calls work.”
She added, “Please let me know if I can help get things set up so you can call and talk with Kendra. Just remember, don’t talk about anything legal unless you are with an attorney. Everything said in these messages, phone calls and video chats are recorded and turned over to prosecutors.”
Joseph was arrested on March 18 in Arkansas on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior after allegedly molesting a 9-year-old girl in Florida in 2020. The victim, now 14, told police that Joseph “eventually apologized for his actions” at the time before “the incidents stopped.” (Joseph was also later charged with four counts each of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment, which are unrelated to the Florida case. His wife, Kendra Duggar, was arrested for the same charges and released on bond within hours.)
Joseph’s eldest brother, Josh, married Anna in 2008. Josh, 38, was convicted for receiving and possessing child pornography in 2022. He was sentenced to 151 months in prison and continues to maintain his innocence. Throughout Josh’s incarceration, Anna has remained in his corner and appears to be doing the same for his sibling.
“Are they keeping you in solitary, or will they let you go into a pod? Joshua‘s experience there at Washington County was fairly safe,” Anna wrote in her email to Joseph. “If there are any concerns for your health, or safety, please let me know. On a practical side, I think commissary has a two week delay.”
She added, “If you will be there a while, we definitely want to send some goodies your way.”

Anna further revealed that she had spoken with Kendra, 27, about how she was coping “in the middle of such heavy situations.” (Joseph and Kendra, who have been married since 2017, share four children.)
“I was amazed with how clearly she thought, how focused and articulate she was,” Anna wrote of Kendra. “She loves you deeply. She was strong on the phone call, except for when she talked about it being a month before she can see the kids. My heart breaks for all of you. I know she will win in the end … it just might take time. Kendra is an amazing woman — the Grace of God is flowing from her life. She is a gem!”
Joseph responded to Anna’s message several hours later, thanking her for her prayers and money for the commissary. He also asked her to help Kendra set up her email to communicate with him.

“Praying for you. Please let me know how I can help,” Anna replied, also advising Joseph that he can request a visit from the jail chaplain to supply more books.
Anna’s final message read, “[Kendra] loves you so much.”
Joseph was extradited to Florida earlier this week, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was released on a $600,000 bond.
