Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced their upcoming trip to Australia next month, and a PR expert claims Australia was “one of the most successful tours” carried out by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018.
A Sussex spokesman previously told the Daily Express: “Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit Australia in mid-April to take part in a number of private, business, and philanthropic engagements. Further details will be shared in due course.”
Meanwhile, a PR director from Go Up, exclusively told the Express, returning to the country carries “symbolism”. Olivia Bennett said: “Australia was one of the most successful royal tours Meghan and Harry undertook in 2018, so returning now in a private capacity carries a certain symbolism. It allows them to reconnect with an audience that previously responded very positively to them.”
Ms Bennett further added: “Visits like this also prove how their global profile functions outside the royal framework. If the trip generates lots of positive engagement around the events they attend, it reinforces the idea that they can still draw international attention and interest in their work independently.”
Speaking of Meghan’s As Ever brand, the expert further stated: “Moments like this are about shaping narrative. Meghan has been gradually redefining how she appears in public life.
“Speaking at curated events like this helps position her as a voice in conversations around leadership, wellbeing and advocacy rather than solely through the lens of her former royal role.”

Harry and Meghan’s 2018 tour proved remarkably successful, with enormous crowds gathering to welcome the newlyweds as Meghan announced her pregnancy with Prince Archie.
But the landscape has shifted since then, with Meghan and Harry both stepping down as working royals in 2020.
Durign their visit, the Duchess of Sussex is set to appear at a women-only weekend retreat in Sydney, with tickets starting at A$2,699 (£1,400) per person.
Meghan will speak at a gala dinner, with VIP ticket holders offered front-row seats and a group photo with the duchess. The 300-person Sydney retreat has been organised by the Her Best Life podcast, founded by Gemma O’Neill and well-known Australian celebrity Jackie “O” Henderson.
