Jess Wright is revealing a “really scary” accident that occurred with her son over the weekend.
The Only Way Is Essex star, 40, shared a long statement on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, June 10, and explained that her 4-year-old son Presley was airlifted to a hospital after he was involved in a “freak” bouncy house castle accident.
“We had a really scary thing happen at a bday party on Saturday & he’s been so clingy (even more than usual) ever since,” the British reality TV star wrote over a picture of her son sleeping. “Presley got catapulted off the top of a bouncy castle high in the air & landed face down on a hard wooden floor from about 3 meters high. A noise that silence the whole party & will haunt me I’m sure 💔.”
Wright said her son was “struggling to breathe” and passed out in her arms. When he came to, Wright and her family were airlifted to the trauma unit in London.
“Miraculously, when we arrived the shock had subsided slightly & pain killers kicked in & a few hours later we were released with no injuries other than a few bruises, a very sore little boy & traumatized parents,” she continued.
When Presley was two, he was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve, a congenital heart disease. Because of this, Wright shared that she was more concerned about their son’s health — but ultimately, said it was just a “freak accident.”
“It was a freak accident that couldn’t have been avoided but I will say ill [sic] be more careful in future if the bouncy castle is on a wooden floor [opposed] to mats or I guess maybe grass,” the reality star explained. “It was a simple accident that could have happened at any point, it’s one of those things.”
She went on to thank all the parents at the party and the healthcare professionals who assisted her family. Wright then shared a photo of her son Presley strapped into a gurney with his pacifier in his mouth.
“Scariest day of my life,” she wrote. “Have thanked god every day that he’s ok because it was truly horrendous seeing him in the state he was here & just before.”
