Reba McEntire broke down in tears over stepson Brandon Blackstock’s recent death.
During Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” the country star — who judges the singing competition show alongside Niall Horan, Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg — began getting emotional after contestant Aubrey Nicole performed Martina McBride’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.”
“I lost my oldest son because he did not win with cancer, so that was a real reminder that life goes on,” McEntire said.
“We sing songs about it so that we can remember the ones that we love so much and that we lean on at times like this,” McEntire, 70, added.
Snoop, born Calvin Broadus Jr., then passed the three-time Grammy winner some tissues.
Blackstock died on Aug. 7 after a private battle with melanoma, the most aggressive form of skin cancer. He was 48.
The talent manager, who was previously married to Kelly Clarkson, “passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Mont.,” Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis told People at the time.
Blackstock was “under hospice care surrounded by his family,” Hollis added.
Despite Blackstock’s contentious divorce from the “American Idol” winner, 43, she was there for her ex, even prioritizing his time with their children: daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9.
Clarkson also briefly stepped away from her eponymous talk show and canceled several of her Las Vegas residency concerts.
Following Blackstock’s death, McEntire took to Instagram to share a touching tribute to her late stepson.
“Last week, my stepson/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God. His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God’s presence,” she wrote alongside a carousel of images.
“There is no one else like him, and I’m thankful for the time we had together. His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.”
Earlier this month, the “I’m A Survivor” songstress reminisced on raising “precious” Brandon while she was married to his father, Narvel Blackstock, from 1989 to 2015.
“My relationship with my stepson, Brandon Blackstock, was precious,” she told People. “I absolutely loved that child.”
Brandon was 4 years old when McEntire began dating his dad.
“Along with his mom [Elisa Gayle Ritter] and dad, I helped raise him, along with [Narvel’s other kids] Shawna and Chassidy. They were my kids,” the “Reba” alum continued.
McEntire also told the outlet that “Brandon is sorely missed, truly missed with his mischievousness and his love of life.”
“He brought joy to everybody that met him, and we’ll never forget him,” she added.
Brandon spent his final days in Montana, where “he had his ranch and rodeo” and could “go under the radar.”
