Reba McEntire shared a rare update about her wedding timeline amid her engagement to fiancé Rex Linn.
“We’re totally enjoying being engaged,” McEntire, 70, told People in an interview published on Tuesday, November 11. “Have no idea when we’re going to set a date. Work comes first, so we’ll see.”
McEntire went on to share that she and Linn, 68, are “very low-key.” She then teased who will make the wedding’s guest list. “We’ll have friends and family and have a great time,” she said.
The Reba alum the reiterated that she and Linn are happy to be enjoying their time as an engaged couple for the moment. “We’re in the fun [phase]. We love each other, respect each other, love to hang out,” McEntire said. “We’re best friends. It’s perfect. I’m really grateful God kept him for the last.”
McEntire also explained that Linn likes to joke she “saved the best for last,” as she was previously married to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987 and Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015. Meanwhile, Linn has never been married.
Following her split from Blackstock, 69, McEntire found love with Linn in 2020 and they got engaged at their Tennessee ranch on Christmas Eve in 2024.
“He had it designed from a jewelry store in Austin, Texas. She made my Longhorn necklaces also,” McEntire told the outlet of the rose gold ring with black diamonds that Linn proposed with. “He just knew that about me. I’m not a big diamond girl.”
McEntire also insight into their relationship while speaking to USA Todayon November 1. I’m having a blast. I feel like a teenager again,” she said. “It’s just a wonderful time.”
The “I’m a Survivor” singer also took a moment of gush about her engagement ring, saying, “It sparkles all the time, and it doesn’t matter that I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned it.”

Not only is McEntire happy with her relationship, but she also revealed she’s never been happier in all aspects of her life. “I’m 70 years old, 50 years in the business, and I’m happier now than I’ve ever been in my life,” she told the outlet. “God saved the best for last.”
She also shared insight into their home life. “In the morning, when I’m shuffling down the hall to get Coffee Camp, Rex will say, ‘You’re the prettiest woman in the world,'” McEntire said. “And I’ll say, ‘OK, put your glasses back on.'”
Not only are McEntire and Linn a couple in real life, but they’re also co-workers on NBC’s Happy’s Place.
“We’re great rehearsal partners. We’ll go to bed with our scripts and wake with them,” she said of working with Linn. “But many mornings we sit out back and watch the hummingbirds while having coffee.”
While McEntire and Linn’s characters on Happy’s Place aren’t intended to be a couple, the country icon admitted she knows fans are expecting something to happen between Bobbie and Emmett. “But that’s what the fans are expecting,” she said.. “‘That’s real life, let’s see it on the show.'”
