A failed lie detector test won’t sway The Real Housewives of Orange County audience. After last night’s episode appeared to show Katie Ginella caught in a web of lies, fans are still overwhelmingly on her side. The situation has left the rest of the cast subject to a swell of criticism.

In RHOC Season 19 Episode 8, Emily Simpson invited the group to her home and surprised them with a lie detector test. As the results rolled in, the ladies learned that Katie failed every single question. They asked Katie to leave, which left her questioning if she’d ever be welcomed back into the friend group. Meanwhile, fans watching at home felt outraged.
“This all feels completely gross,” complained one viewer on Twitter/X. “Do I believe Katie lied? Yes. Do I think Gretchen [Rossi] lied? Hell yes. Do I think the cast are going above and beyond to ostracize Katie for it? Yes.”
Another added, “These women thought the fans would be down with them bullying, ganging up on, isolating, and icing Katie off the show. They thought the f*ck wrong. Fans are more on Katie’s side than they have ever been.”
Of course, plenty of fans on Twitter drew attention to the fact that this isn’t the first time a woman of color has been driven off of RHOC. A viewer posted a side-by-side of Noella Bergener and Katie, along with the caption, ”Justice for them.”
The viewer continued, “No matter the situation or who is in the wrong, watching four or five white women gang up on a woman of color feels less like fair conflict and more like targeted exclusion.”
Although folks are largely siding with Katie, insiders close to the show claimed that producers put her on a midseason pause following the lie detector drama. The cast refused to film with her, and they excluded her from an upcoming cast trip, leaving her future as a Housewife in serious jeopardy.
The Real Housewives of Orange County continues on Thursday at 8/7c on Bravo. Stream it the next day on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
