After the 2026 Grammy Awards were filled with politically-charged speeches from notable artists, Ricky Gervais has decided to weigh in… again.

The controversial comedian and actor took to X after the Sunday night ceremony to resurface comments he made during his 2020 Golden Globes monologue, which saw him advise actors to leave politics out of their acceptance speeches.

“If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a political platform to make a political speech,” Gervais said at the time. “You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.”

In his new post, he added, “They’re still not listening,” followed by a crying face emoji.

This wasn’t the first time Gervais has resurfaced this message, as he previously shared it and then deleted it following Hacks actress Hannah Einbinder’s speech at the 2025 Emmys, which saw her say “fuck ICE” and “free Palestine.”

At the 2026 Grammys, Bad Bunny, who won album of the year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, called out ICE during his acceptance speech earlier in the night for best música urbana album.

“Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out,” he told the crowd. “We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans. The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family, and that’s the way to do it with love. Don’t forget that, please. Thank you.”

After winning the award for song of the year for “Wildflower,” Billie Eilish also spoke out against ICE in her speech, saying, “I feel so honored every time I get to be in this room. And, as grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything, but that no one is illegal on stolen land … It’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now, and I feel really hopeful in this room.”

She also urged the public to “keep fighting and speaking up and protesting,” before yelling, “Fuck ICE,” which was bleeped on the CBS telecast.

Bad Bunny and Eilish weren’t the only artists on Sunday night making their anti-ICE stances known. Several other notable stars, including Justin and Hailey Bieber, Finneas and Kehlani, wore black-and-white pins with the words “ICE OUT” displayed on them.
