Country singer and actress Rita Wilson celebrated a landmark moment in her career with fans on Sept. 29, marking the 7th anniversary of her third album, Bigger Picture.
The 68-year-old, who is married to Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, wrote on Instagram alongside a clip from the music video for the title track, “Bigger Picture,” “Seven years ago, my 3rd album ‘Bigger Picture’ made its way into the world! 🤍.”
“This collection of songs will always hold such a special place in my heart, and I’m so proud to have created and shared it with you,” Wilson went on, before asking fans if they have a favorite track from the album.
Fans quickly sounded off in the comments, cheering on the album and celebrating the meaningful milestone.
“Love this,” read one simple comment, as more chimed in, saying, “I love this one!! So honest! Heartfelt,” and “Bigger Picture is my fav ❤️. Beautiful voice bringing the lyrics to life.”
“What a beautiful angelic voice,” said another fan of the singer, while others called her voice “lovely” and “incredible.”
A couple of people specifically highlighted another song on the album as their favorite, saying, “Heart he handed down ❤️❤️,” and “Heart he handed down is an amazing song! 🎶 ❤️.”
Wilson’s third studio album, Bigger Picture, was released on Sept. 28, 2018, with Wilson co-writing many of the songs on the release. Along with “Bigger Picture” and “Heart He Handed Down,” the album also includes the songs “The Way I Am,” “Broken Man,” and “Not About the Music,” among others. In total, it has 12 tracks.

Wilson Opened up About Making the Personal Album
In an interview with iHeartRadio around the time of the album’s release, Wilson shared some insight into her vision for the record, calling it a “musical scrapbook.”
“I called the album Bigger Picture because it’s a little bit like the way I used to collect scrapbooks when I was younger, and I would put everything together,” she explained. “It had everything from your high-school prom photos to your sixth grade report card, or valentines from junior high that were handmade.”
Wilson elaborated on how this perspective bled into her music, saying, “I took songs that I had and loved, and they were mostly ballads that reflected what you feel like when you’re looking back at your life in a way.”
The singer’s next album, Halfway to Home, was released only months later, on March 29, 2019.
