Robert De Niro is all work and no play these days as he devotes his days to new investment projects as well as movies and politics. But a source tells Examiner that his busy work-life is “leaving little time” for his romance with Tiffany Chen, the mother of his seventh and youngest child.
“He’s keyed up and often he’s out the door before breakfast. He’s away in meetings and constantly thinking up ways to make money,” the source explains. “The alimony to ex-wife Grace Hightower and the lawsuit from his former assistant seems to be at the back of his mind, though he’s far from what anyone would consider ‘struggling.’”
In 2023, De Niro’s production company was ordered to pay his former assistant Graham Chase Robinson $1.26 million after it was found liable for gender discrimination and retaliation.
However, the source says with the Irishman star, 82, focused so much on work, “the result is Tiffany doesn’t see him as much as she used to.”

The source continues, “He’s still devoted as ever to their daughter [Gia, 2], but the most Tiffany gets is a pat on the arm. Plus, his work is taking him away from home, too, and when he does stick around for a few hours, he’s checking his phone and answering calls. Now, he’s got this big new investment in the Caribbean to distract him.”
Currently, De Niro is “all about the deals, less about her,” according to the source, and the issue is becoming “a turnoff to her.”
“She’s sulking and making a stink about it in a passive-aggressive way, not wanting to rock the boat too much,” the source adds, “and he clearly isn’t getting the hint.”
