A day after rock legend John Mellencamp sat down on the Joe Rogan Experience and opened up about his daughter, Teddi Mellenamp, and her cancer battle, she also addressed her fight.
“I’ve been doing a lot of therapy, a lot of rest, a lot of hanging with the family,” Teddi said on her Two T’s in a Pod podcast with Tamra Judge. “A lot of trying to get myself together because, apparently, I’m struggling with massive PTSD.”
Teddi Mellencamp said that her PTSD came from her battle against the disease.
“I didn’t really realize it, so I’m starting to feel a little bit better,” she added. “The cloud is lifting.”
Teddi, 44, a former star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” has shared her battle for more than a year after stage 4 cancer spread to her brain and lungs. And, at times, it appeared the she had made miraculous improvements.
But John Mellencamp indicated that is no longer the case. The 74-year-old told Rogan that his daughter is “really sick.”
“It’s not (expletive) fun,” he said. “She’s got cancer in the brain, and she’s suffering right now.”
Anxiety and PTSD are tough battles to fight, but that is better than a relapse.
And the news comes after Teddi said in October that her cancer was “gone.”
“Just to give a little life update to you guys, I had my immunotherapy yesterday and I did my scans and at this point there is no detectable cancer,” she said then. “When they told me, I was in such shock. I was like, numb.
“I’m still going to be having days when I’m feeling sick and stuff because I still am in immunotherapy, so I’m still fighting because you have to be,” she added.
She did say at the time that she would remain on immunotherapy for year because, “I’m not considered in remission or anything like that.
“The way the (doctors) said it works, it’s like one year, then two years, then at three years you’re allowed to be considered … in remission,” she said.
Her October revelation came just months after she said she was making end-of-life plans.
“I have multiple tumors in my brain that weren’t able to be removed via surgery,” she wrote back in March 2025. “I also have 2 tumors in my lung. These are all metastases of my melanoma.”
She was first diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma on her shoulder in 2023 and had surgery to remove it.
