Singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell grew up in Houston before moving to Nashville in the 1970s to pursue a career in music. He had great success, including five No. 1 country singles from his 1988 album Diamonds & Dirt album alone.
His song “After All This Time” won the Grammy Award for best country song in 1990.
Crowell he has also had success writing hit songs and producing for a range of other artists along the way.
His latest album is called Airline Highway.
In the video and audio above, Crowell talks about his career and the new album with Houston Matters host Craig Cohen and performs two tracks from it, “Sometime Thang” and “The Twenty-One-Song Salute.”
Crowell will preview the new album at a Cactus Music event today at 5:30 p.m.
