This spring Bucks County Community College is packed with live events as Bucks take pride in their artists and performers; this spring the Zlock is filled with plenty of events, and it just so happens that there is something in there for everyone.
For those old souls who want to go back in time to the seventies, Bucks invites you to join on April 25th for “Rumors.” Rumors is a Fleetwood Mac tribute band that will turn back the clock. From the groovy rock and roll music, to the colorful carefree fashion, you will feel like you are living in the Bohemian Era.
If rock and roll is not the style for you, on April 3rd, Bucks is holding the “Annual Bucks Blues Festival.” The event is filled with guests such as Nikki Hill and Mike Guldin. Those who show up will be immersed into a world of soulful R&B music.
For those who are not necessarily interested in music or performance related events, Bucks has something for them as well. If paranormal activity is something of interest, come check out Paracon on February 19th from 12-6pm where you can experience all things paranormal from ghosts, bigfoot, UFO’s and so much more.
Guests will be met with about 40 vendors and plenty of speakers, “Some guests even dress up. One of the guys working at a vendor was dressed up as bigfoot” said Pete Chiovarou, director of the Zlock and College events at Bucks said.
For those who love to see a great onstage performance, they are encouraged to check out the Drama Club’s spring performance of “The Great Gatsby.”
Sit back and enjoy as the radiant scenery of the Roaring Twenties in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel is brought to life on stage. Fans of theatre and literature alike can Indulge in the arts before them as they support the student run production of “The Great Gatsby.”
One of the most important parts that makes these events at the Zlock so special is the number of productions that involve or are run by the students. From music, to theatre, dance, and improve, students are able to show off their talents as well as their passions.
On May 6th, Bucks is hosting “Bucks Film Fest” in which students from the Cinema Video Production and Multimedia classes are able to share the hard work and dedication of their creation with an audience.
The Zlock also provides a place for those who want to have some peace. On the first Thursday of every month, Bucks holds a “Cultural Streaming Service” during the day. This service is open to the public as well as free. “It gives a nice space where people can come and eat lunch and enjoy the music.” Peter Chiovarou stated.
All students here at Bucks get one free ticket to each event, just bring your school ID and you will be good to go. Students are encouraged to come and support their peers in these live events.
No matter what you are interested in, the Zlock will be holding an event for you.
