With Stranger Things Season 5 Vol. 1 hitting Netflix next month, anticipation among fans for what fate awaits Eleven and the gang is peaking. Along with the excitement comes a whirlpool of rumors – the strangest of all being that every episode will be over 90 minutes long.
But before fans could give in to the temptation of watching a blockbuster-movie-length episode for Season 5, Ross Duffer had set the record straight. The mastermind behind the juggernaut revealed the lengths of the first four episodes of the finale on his Instagram handle.
The first episode, titled, The Crawl, will run for one hour and eight minutes; episode 2, titled, The Vanishing of …, will run 54 minutes; episode 3, titled, The Turnbow Trap, will run for one hour and six minutes; and episode 4, titled, Sorcerer, will run one hour and 23 minutes.
As for the final four episodes, fans will have to wait.
Of course, that update came as a peak disappointment for fans who were convinced of a longer runtime after multiple outlets reported otherwise.
That said, this shouldn’t dull the excitement for the show – especially when Ross is dropping promising scoops about some of the episodes. With The Turnbow Trap being “the most classic Stranger Things-y episode of the season,” packing “all our favorite things,” to Sorcerer being “MASSIVE” and “the most logistically insane shoot” of the Duffer Brothers’ lives, the show is shaping up to be the behemoth we imagined.
Stranger Things Season 5 consists of eight episodes and will be released in three parts, with two volumes dropping on November 26 and December 25, 2025, and the finale on December 31.
