Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s former home is being revamped.
According to an insider, Frogmore Cottage — where the couple lived while working for The Firm — is likely to undergo renovations to remove any evidence that it was once Meghan and Harry’s house.
“It’s been empty for three years. Even Andrew [Mountbatten-Windsor] thought it wasn’t good enough for him to move in,” a source told The Sun, while referring to the disgraced former Duke of York.

For the family, the memory of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might be too painful.
“Maybe if they get rid of any trace of Harry and Meghan, then someone within the royal household will fancy it,” the insider said.
“It would draw the line under Frogmore Cottage’s controversial history and return it to the pre-Meghan and Harry era,” the source added.
In January 2020, Meghan and Harry announced they would be stepping down from their roles as senior members of the royal family.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” the pair wrote in a statement shared to Instagram.
“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the royal family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty the Queen [Elizabeth II],” they made clear.
“It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment,” Meghan and Harry noted.
In the years following the duo’s exit, they publicly slammed the monarchy and made shocking allegations about their relatives.

“In those months when I was pregnant [with Prince Archie]… we have in tandem the conversation of, ‘He won’t be given security. He’s not going to be given a title,’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born,” Meghan told Oprah Winfrey during the pair’s bombshell sit-down in 2021.
“There were several conversations about it,” she claimed. “I think that would be very damaging to them. That was relayed to me from Harry. Those were conversations that his family had with him. It was really hard to be able to see those as compartmentalized conversations.”
The Suits actress even admitted she regrets thinking that the family would protect her and Harry.
“Had I really seen that that wasn’t happening, I would have been able to do more, but I think I wasn’t supposed to see it,” Meghan told the former talk show host.
“I wasn’t supposed to know and now because we’re actually on the other side, we’ve actually not just survived but are thriving,” the mother of two added.
Meghan and the Spare author now reside in a sprawling mansion in California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, their decision to purchase the property wasn’t an easy one.
“We didn’t have jobs, so we just were not going to come and see this house,” Meghan told The Cut in 2022 about seeing the estate for the first time.
“It wasn’t possible. It’s like when I was younger and you’re window shopping,” she said.
“It’s like, I don’t want to go and look at all the things that I can’t afford. That doesn’t feel good,” the With Love, Meghan star said.
Royal journalist Tom Sykes said Meghan and Harry’s home isn’t the most desirable on the block.
“I was in New York last week, and I was meeting with somebody who lives fairly near them, and they said to me that that house that they occupy in Montecito is like a source of laughing stock,” he said during an appearance on “The Royalist” podcast.
“It’s kind of shameful because, of course, in America, if you’re a billionaire and you buy a house, I mean, what’s the first thing you do? Knock it down, you know, or at the very least remodel it, you know?” Sykes said. “And there they are, still sort of padding around in a kitchen that looks straight out of the Olive Garden, you know, circa 1994.”
