Princess Kate has long been admired for her elegance, her dedication to charity, and her calm, collected presence in the public eye. However, behind closed doors, the beloved royal has a playful, fiercely competitive side that her inner circle knows well.
Fellow royal Mike Tindall revealed that the Princess of Wales, 44, has a thing for the classic drinking game ‘beer pong’— with one very royal upgrade.
Instead of beer, she swaps in prosecco.

“I knew that the Princess of Wales was uber competitive because I’d seen her play a drinking game called beer pong, but normally we play prosecco pong! She still plays it with us,” Mike, who is married to Zara Tindall, Prince William‘s cousin, told Woman & Home.

“Sport is rife throughout the family — everyone is competitive,” he added.
The former rugby pro, 47, had previously teased Kate about her competitive streak on an episode of his podcast The Good, The Bad & The Rugby back in 2023.
“I’m not going to say you’re uber competitive,” he said, pausing with a knowing look that said otherwise.
“I’m not competitive at all,” Kate coyly replied, before Mike shot back, “I’ve seen her play beer pong!”
While Kate still enjoys a game from time to time, she has been more mindful about alcohol since her cancer diagnosis.

During a visit to the Southwark Brewing Company in London in March, she told royal editor Matt Wilkinson of The Sun, “Since my diagnosis, I haven’t had much alcohol. It’s something I have to be a lot more conscious of now.”
In January, Star reported that Kate was refocusing her energy in 2026 following her battle with cancer, according to a source close to the princess.
“Kate’s got so much she wants to accomplish this coming year, and now that she’s feeling better, she’s throwing herself back into life,” the source told the outlet. “She’s the type of person that feels happiest when she feels useful, so even when she’s home resting, she’s usually working on something.”
