The Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) has announced the re-appointment of VC Artist NOVO Quartet as Ensemble in Association.
The NOVO Quartet, which comprises violinists Kaya Kato Møller and Nikolai Vasili Nedergaard, violist Daniel Śledziński, and cellist Signe Ebstrup Bitsch, is in its second year as RNCM Ensemble in Association. The quartet will continue to focus on coaching students, pursuing collaborative projects, and engaging in side-by-side performances, including alongside RNCM fellows and String Quartet Studio ensembles.
“We’ve loved our first year as Ensemble in Association,” says Møller. “The openness and enthusiasm from the students made our first year a joy!”
The RNCM also appointed the Trio Havisham and violinist Amarins Wierdsma as Junior Fellows in Chamber Music beginning in the 2026/2027 academic year.
Trio Havisham consists of RNCM alumni pianist Zany Denyer, violinist Magdalena Riedl, and cellist Seth Collin. The trio served as Ensemble en Résidence at La Roque d’Anthéron International Piano Festival and was a part of the Countess of Munster Recital Scheme.
Utrecht-born violinist Amarins Wierdsma is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Emily Anderson Prize, she also served as the first violinist of the Barbican Quartet, which was the winner of the 71st ARD International String Quartet Competition.
In addition, the RNCM announced that the Talland Quartet, Voluta Quartet, Agogo Quartet, and Osian Ensemble join the RNCM String Quartet Studio beginning in September 2026.
