Meghan Markle’s speculated return to acting has caught many off guard, including likely the Royal Family.
On Wednesday evening, it was unveiled that Meghan will portray herself in the forthcoming comedy Close Personal Friends.
The duchess has already been spotted on the movie set in LA, but she hasn’t personally confirmed the news.
Meghan, 44, was an actress before marrying Prince Harry and becoming a working Royal – a role she and her husband stepped away from in 2020.
The Royal Family has yet to comment on the news, but Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams thinks they’ll find it “amusing.”
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Mr. Fitzwilliams stated: “I suspect members of the Royal Family will be amused that Meghan has gone back to acting, we don’t know for how long.
A studio insider told The Sun last night: “Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”
It remains unclear how significant Meghan’s role in the film will be, or if this signifies a full-time return to acting.
However, it seems unlikely as the duchess is currently focusing on her own brand, As Ever.
