WHEELING, W. Va. – Host Wheeling took a 2-0 lead in the Kelly Cup playoff series against the Royals with a 5-1 victory on Saturday at WesBanco Arena.
Reading will attempt to dig out of the hole when they host Game 3 on Wednesday at Santander Arena.
Alec Butcher scored the first goal of the series for the Royals 14:06 into the second period to cut the deficit to 3-1.
