KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Royals ace Cole Ragans had to exit the game early vs. the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday.
Ragans left the game after the third inning due to tricep/elbow soreness, being replaced by RHP Luinder Avila in the fourth inning.

It was an excellent outing up to that point for Ragans, who had pitched three scoreless innings and only allowed one hit.
Ragans also had to leave the game early vs. the Guardians last month, after a comebacker hit his left thumb in the first inning.
On the season, Ragans is 1-4 with a 5.29 ERA. He also dealt with injuries for much of his 2025 campaign.
Hopefully, the injury is nothing long-term for the 28-year-old lefty.
