Royals reinstate Jonathan India from IL, place Wacha on concussion list

CLEVELAND (KCTV) – The Kansas City Royals have added a key bat back to the lineup at the same time one of their most reliable pitchers is headed to the injury list.

On Tuesday, the Royals announced that second baseman Jonathan India has been reinstated from the injured list following a left wrist sprain.

As India returns, right-handed pitcher Michael Wacha was placed on the 7-day concussion list. The Royals said that move is retroactive to Monday.

India has a .232 batting average, 8 home runs and 41 RBI this season for the Royals.

The Guardians rolled to a 10-2 win over Kansas City on Monday night and leapfrogged the Royals in the AL wild-card race.
