Royals send message to Meghan Markle by mingling with Jeremy Clarkson

Members of the royal family have appeared to send a message to Meghan Markle by mingling with Jeremy Clarkson in Oxfordshire.

Back in 2023, the Top Gear star issued an apology for the comments he made about Prince Harry’s spouse in his column in The Sun newspaper.

The TV presenter posted a lengthy statement on his Instagram account following backlash for his article in which he wrote that he “hated” Meghan.

Mr Clarkson also emailed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Christmas Day to say his language in the column had been “disgraceful” and he was “profoundly sorry”.

Now members of the royal family have been spotted mingling with the 65-year-old at a private event in the Cotswolds despite his previous comments about Ms Markle.

Both Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie attended the fundraiser hosted by Simon Cowell and his fiancée, Lauren Silverman.

The couple, who also live in the Cotswolds, were raising money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

Mr Clarkson was among the guests and even acted as auctioneer on the day, helping to raise £1.1m for the charity.

Meghan and Harry are even looking at a move to the Cotswolds, according to the Daily Mail, which would see them living closer to Mr Clarkson and the royals.

A source told the national newspaper: “I’d say the Cotswolds would be somewhere they might look if they were thinking about a home outside the royal estate.”
