KRSL/KZRS Russell Radio hosted its 19th Annual Fred White Memorial Royals Alumni Youth Baseball and Softball Clinic on Thursday afternoon at the Shaffer Sports Complex in Russell.
The clinic is named in honor of former Kansas City Royals broadcaster and White Communications/Russell Radio owner Fred White who passed away in May of 2013.
Boys and girls ages seven through 15 learned about baseball from former players of the Kansas City Royals – Les Norman, Dennis Leonard and Rod Myers
Girls in attendance also learned about fastpitch softball from local coach Haley Jackson.
Members of the Russell-Victoria softball and baseball teams also helped out.
Russell Radio wants to thank everyone who made this free annual event possible once again, including the Royals Alumni, local coaches and players, the participants and the many sponsors.
