Another beloved 1970s police drama is officially heading back to television.
The classic series S.W.A.T. is joining the lineup at Family Entertainment Television beginning Sunday, February 1, 2026, marking a major expansion of the network’s growing slate of vintage crime procedurals.
The show will make its debut on FETV with a special marathon airing Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET, before settling into a regular weekend time slot at 6:50 p.m. ET.

Originally airing on ABC from 1975 to 1976, S.W.A.T. was a spinoff of the Sam Melville-Kate Jackson show The Rookies. S.W.A.T. centered on an elite Special Weapons and Tactics unit of the Los Angeles Police Department, focusing on high-risk operations far beyond the scope of standard patrol work.
The series starred Steve Forrest as Lt. Dan “Hondo” Harrelson, the seasoned leader tasked with commanding a specialized team trained to handle hostage situations, armed standoffs, and domestic terrorism.
The ensemble cast also included Rod Perry as Sgt. David “Deacon” Kay, Robert Urich as impulsive young officer Jim Street, and Mark Shera as tactical specialist Dominic Luca. Rather than spotlighting a single hero, the show emphasized coordination, discipline, and teamwork—an approach that helped define the modern portrayal of elite police units on television.

Although S.W.A.T. ran for just two seasons, it left an outsized cultural footprint. The series was known for its gritty, realistic tone and remains especially famous for its instantly recognizable theme music, which went on to become a pop-culture phenomenon well beyond the show itself.
To kick off the launch on FETV, the network is airing the following episodes during Sunday’s marathon:
9 a.m. ET – “The Killing Ground” (pilot): Jim Street joins Harrelson’s elite unit after his partner is murdered, immediately testing the team’s ability to work together under pressure.
10:15 a.m. ET – “The Bravo Enigma” (season 1, episode 8): An assassin targeting a U.S. senator unknowingly carries a deadly illness, raising the stakes for both public safety and containment.
11:30 a.m. ET – “Deadly Tide” (season 2 two-part premiere): A wave of ambush attacks leads to the formation of a new specialized police division, with Harrelson clashing with a rookie over leadership style.
1:45 p.m. ET – “Time Bomb” (season 2, episode 5): What begins as a routine equipment test at a movie studio turns into a race against time when a gang rigs the lot with explosives.
