Sabrina Carpenter shines at Nashville ‘Short n’ Sweet’ show, arrests Nicole Kidman and other top moments

Less than a month after her Grand Ole Opry debut, the 26-year-old “Please Please Please” singer returned to Music City. On Nov. 4, she took the stage at Bridgestone Arena for her first of two sold-out shows on the “Short n’ Sweet” tour.

Alongside support from R&B up-and-comer Amber Mark and “Man I Need” singer Olivia Dean, Carpenter brought a night of retro vibes and flirty bangers to a ravenous crowd.

Over a 25-song set that included hits from Carpenter’s recent record “Man’s Best Friend,” 2024’s “Short n’ Sweet” and “Emails I Can’t Send” from 2022, Carpenter belted her heart out as she traversed an apartment-themed set, changed from one shimmery outfit to another, and got playful with the crowd.

The night brought out the who’s who of Nashville, with celebs Priscilla Block, Kelsea Ballerini and featured guest Nicole Kidman watching one of pop’s most prominent voices from the crowd.

As showtime came close, a giant screen broadcasted a campy video of Carpenter in a bubble bath, who had seemingly forgotten she needed to be on stage in a matter of moments.

The screen lifted to reveal a two-story, all white penthouse set.

Carpenter, onstage wrapped in her bath towel, opened up her cover to reveal a shining maroon, bandana-patterned corset bodysuit and launched into her tune “Taste.”

Leaning into a NYC ’70s talk-show theme, the night was split into three acts by “Short n’ Sweet TV” commercials breaks, which featured cheeky products that played off of Carpenter’s songs.

From the start, Carpenter hooked the crowd with her soaring, bright vocals, animated stage presence and the show’s well-developed narrative arc.

During Act One, Carpenter’s dozen backup dancers joined the stage with the women dressed in silky, lacy slips and the men in white button downs.

“Manchild” had the crew of gals exploring Carpenter’s closet before a very “Grease”-feeling dance showdown with the boys.

“Slim Pickins” saw Carpenter serenading the crowd by her fireplace.

And in “Bed Chem?” You guessed it. The party gravitated to the bedroom’s plush circular bed for one of the steamiest part of the show.

Act Two brought outfit changes into sparkly party looks; this portion was coined “Sabrina After Dark.”

On “Fast Times” Carpenter sang atop a piano, “Sharpest Tool” found her in the bathroom crooning as she sat on the toilet and looked in the mirror, and “Coincidence” brought her down the catwalk to sit in a heart-shaped hangout pad.

After a rendition of spin the bottle that decided a mystery song, Carpenter sang her 2025 country-infused hit “Go Go Juice,” which was one of the show’s musical highlights.

“Nashville, I was here not too long ago,” Carpenter told the crowd.

She made her Grand Ole Opry debut on Oct. 7. After being introduced by Sheryl Crow, Carpenter performed four songs on the world’s longest-running country music radio show live from Nashville.

“I got to make my Opry debut, which was so crazy, it was so special,” she said. “The first time I ever came here I was 16 years old and I played this small, size of a closet (venue).”

In October 2016, Carpenter performed at the Rocketown venue on her EVOlution Tour.

“I was just honored that anyone was there, because I don’t live in Nashville,” she said, remembering it felt like the “coolest thing in the world” to perform in Music City.

“You guys, you just do it right … you guys are so incredible when it comes to embracing music and sharing it and loving and living it.”

And with hits “House Tour” and “Nonsense,” the night’s party segued to act three.

Sabrina Carpenter ‘arrests’ Nicole Kidman for ‘being too hot’

In a full-glam sparkling purple evening gown, Carpenter told the crowd she’s looking for love.

It was time for one of the most-anticipated moments of her show: when she would arrest a notable guest for being too hot.

As the viral bit has made the rounds on social media, stars including Anne Hathaway, Drew Barrymore, Gigi Hadid and Joe Keery have found themselves in Carpenter’s fuzzy handcuffs.

“We come to this arena for magic, right?” Carpenter said, nodding to Nicole Kidman‘s now-iconic AMC commercial line. This show’s arrestee was out of the bag.

“I expected to find love, but not my soulmate,” she said, peering into the crowd. “What is your name?”

The Oscar-winning actress, 58, appeared wearing a cherry red top along the barricade as sirens flashed.

“Nicole,” she said, laughing and looking a little bashful.

“Nicole, where are you from?” Carpenter asked. She responded Nashville.

“Which means if things work out between us, then I guess I’m moving to Nashville,” Carpenter said, slipping in a “baby girl” reference to the actress’s R-rated thriller.

The moment arrived only a month after Kidman filed for divorce from country star Keith Urban, who she was with for 19 years.

After Carpenter dedicated her track “Juno” to Kidman, the night went full disco with “Please Please Please” and “Tears,” and the end credits rolled as Carpenter crooned on “Don’t Smile.”

She capped the night off with her ’24 hit “Espresso.”

Silver confetti rained from the sky while Carpenter strutted the catwalk and belted out the summery tune.

And with that final splash of song, Carpenter left her crowd jittery, glittery and totally sweetened.
