Just when red carpet season was starting to feel like a revolving door of bouffant bobs, Old Hollywood glam and bold lip colors, the 2026 British Film and Television Awards swoop in to ruffle some feathers.

Outside the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday, actresses and A-listers alike made their case for a mix of the controversial and contemporary, donning matte makeup and slicked side parts. Emma Stone led the charge for cloud lips, while Wunmi Mosaku protested Pamela Anderson’s “no makeup-makeup” in icy blue eye shadow. Then, there was Kate Middleton, who wrote the book on royal beauty, with a powerful eye aesthetic and mermaid waves.

Sadie Sink

On Sunday, Sadie Sink let her ginger fringe fall effortlessly over her brows, while the rest of her hair was tucked behind her shoulders. Her soft glam adhered to the skin-first trend sweeping runways and TikTok feeds now, with only a light layer of blush on her cheeks and a rosy stain on her lips.

Sink has yet to credit the stylists she worked with on this look. In the past, she’s favored hair architect Tommy Buckett and makeup artists Mary Wiles and Nina Park. Wiles, however, told WWD she was unable to work with Sink for the ceremony, and while it’s possible Park was the visionary behind her cushion-y lip, the aesthetic didn’t exactly match the contour effect Park’s been revered for recently. Kate Middleton

A fan of delicate waves, Kate Middleton upped the volume and definition of her curls for Sunday night’s red carpet. Her long, light brown hair swayed against her shoulders as she walked hand-in-hand with her husband, Prince William. The Princess of Wales’ makeup was just as exaggerated, with brown shadow in her crease, heavy blush on her cheeks and colored-in brows. Meanwhile, her lips were dressed in a baby pink gloss.

Neither her go-to hairstylist, Amanda Cook Tucker, nor Hannah Martin, the makeup visionary responsible for Middleton’s wedding aesthetic, was credited for this glam. WWD has reached out for confirmation.

Emma Stone

Makeup visionary Nina Park crafted a minimal, doe-eyed aesthetic for Emma Stone, featuring an even-toned base, coral blush and a buttery lip courtesy of Louis Vuitton’s Baume Lip Balm in Nude Poetry. Meanwhile, stylist Mara Roszak pulled her copper-brown hair into a modest updo, leaving only a few curly strands out to frame her face.

Wunmi Mosaku

Wunmi Mosaku’s icy makeup marked a much-needed return to playful beauty. Where most A-listers favor a clean, naked lid, Mosaku worked with Joy Adenuga to coat her eyes in a royal blue shimmer, mirroring the vibrant hue of her gown. And with the help of hairstylist Dionne Smith and manicurist Lucy Tucker, the “Sinners” actress accepted the award for Best Supporting Actress with two voluminous poufs and fiery red nails.

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson’s signature free-flowing blond hair was slicked back into a wet updo on Sunday. The structured aesthetic, courtesy of Peter Lux, was similar to that of Jessie Buckley and Gracie Abrams, with its stark side part. Hudson’s hair, however, boasted a soft doughnut bun in the back. The gelled look embellished her bronzy visage, painted by Naoko Sofia Patrizia Scintu.
