Limited details about the production are currently available since no promotional trailer has been released, but it has garnered positive critical reception from TIFF.
IndieWire praised it as a “deliciously dark comedy about the pressures of a broken school system” in their enthusiastic review.
Meanwhile, The Wrap notes: “[Director Jonatan] Etzler wields the film’s urgent satire like a scalpel, precisely cutting away at all the lies we so easily find ourselves telling that mask the darker truths about who we are.”
Following Bad Apples, Ronan is set to appear alongside Austin Butler in the 2000s-era romantic drama Deep Cuts, which A24 is producing under the direction of The Iron Claw’s Sean Durkin.
