A royal commentator has suggested that Sarah Ferguson’s four-word nickname could give the public an idea as to where she might head next.
Richard Kay, the Daily Mail’s Editor-at-Large and royal expert, has suggested that the former Duchess of York could find herself in the United States in the future following the scandal around her and her husband’s historic interactions with the now dead convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has continuously denied all allegations in relation to Epstein.
Sarah, along with Andrew, has seen great losses since more details about her ex-husband’s communication with Epstein came to light. Seven charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust and British Heart Foundation, cut ties with her earlier this year.
Following the loss of Andrew’s titles, there has been speculation that Sarah could go it alone via writing a third memoir or a tell-all interview, something that has concerned royal commentators.
Speaking about where Sarah could go and how much support there might be for a third memoir by Sarah Ferguson, Richard told Palace Confidential’s Jo Elvin: “I think there would be enough curious people not just here but around the world. And she always had a lot of fans in the United States.
“We used to call her the Duchess of New York because of the amount of time she spent on the east coast and they were very forgiving.
“They gave her the opportunity, it was there that she became an ambassador weight watches and it’s where she, sort of, on previous occasions, got her life back together again, but I feel this time it’s too late and too much has happened.”
Richard Kay isn’t the only royal commentator and journalist to talk about what could happen if Sarah Ferguson sits down for a tell-all interview with the likes of Samara Gill also weighing in.
Speaking on The Sun’s royal podcast, Samara said that she felt it wasn’t right that Sarah was going to speak out and that even if she does, that she shouldn’t for the sake of the Royal Family.
Samara explained: “I think it’s not right that she is going to speak out, but I think she will. Should she? I mean she needs the money, she needs the cash, it’s as simple as that.
“This is the scenario that I worried about the most for the Royal Family because both her and Andrew have absolutely nothing to lose at this point.
“Who knows whose dirty laundry they will then air out? I don’t know think it’ll be their own but think that because of the big amounts of money, you know I mean six figure sums that are being thrown around for this interview, who knows who she’ll talk about?
“Because she probably won’t brief about Andrew, she probably won’t even really talk about herself unless it’s about her struggle, she might talk about other Royal Family members and throw them under the bus and that’s what I’m worried about.”
