And Just Like That… has officially wrapped. The final episode of the series aired on HBO Max on August 14, marking the end of a three-season run that, let’s be real, sparked a lot of conversation. Whether it was the cast shakeups, awkward plotlines or the show’s tendency to go viral for the wrong reasons—love it or hate-watch it—it undeniably became part of the pop culture conversation, much like its predecessor, Sex and the City. Now, Sarah Jessica Parker is weighing in on some of the more vocal critiques of the series—and she’s not losing sleep over them.
In a new interview with The New York Times, Parker was asked directly: “When And Just Like That… debuted, it became a sensation. It was also frequently described as a hate watch. Do you understand why?”

Her three-word response? “I don’t care.” (Basically: not her problem.)
“I don’t think I have the constitution to have spent a lot of time thinking about that,” she said. “We always worked incredibly hard to tell stories that were interesting or real.” And then she added the mic-drop moment: “I guess I don’t really care.”
“The reason I don’t care is because it has been so enormously successful, and the connections it has made with audiences have been very meaningful,” she added.
Fair enough.
The series finale comes just two weeks after it was announced that season three would be the show’s last. Both SJP and showrunner Michael Patrick King said they felt the story had reached a natural end.
“Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all,” Parker wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post. “I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion.”
She continued, “MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete… AJLT was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us. I am better for every single day I spent with you.”
“It will be forever before I forget. The whole thing. Thank you all.”
