Savannah Guthrie shared an emotional video plea nearly six months after her mother Nancy was abducted from her home

Savannah Guthrie is sharing a new message to her mom Nancy Guthrie’s kidnappers.
The 54-year-old Today show co-anchor took to Instagram on Monday, July 27, to share an emotional new video plea as it nears six months since her 84-year-old mother was abducted from her Tucson, Ariz., home on Feb. 1.
Beginning her video by noting she had a “very specific message” to share, Savannah then acknowledged the time that has passed without any suspects identified.
“It has been months since our mom was taken from us,” the NBC morning show host said. “Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed.”
Acknowledging the time and effort she and her siblings, Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie, have made, Savannah added, “We have done our part and we will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts.”
The longtime journalist then appeared to directly address the kidnappers, saying, “The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know that you have tried to do things the right way. So I’m asking you, begging you to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her, tell us where to look for her. I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end for all of us.”
Savannah ended her message with one last request, saying, “No matter where we’ve been or what we’ve done, I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”
Her fans and Today show colleagues quickly filled the comments section with messages of support.

Savannah is currently taking some time off from the Today show while filming her new role as the host for NBC’s upcoming Wordle game show. On Monday, Savannah and her co-anchor, Craig Melvin, were both out, with Sheinelle Jones and Savannah Sellers filling in.
After nearly six months, no suspects have been named in Nancy’s abduction. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI have been working on the case, and previously released doorcam footage of a masked intruder entering Nancy’s home, but that person has not been identified.
There have also been several unverified ransom notes that have been made public.
Last week, crime journalist Briana Whitney joined Ashley Flowers on the Crime Junkie podcast, where she shared what she said was the contents of the first ransom note said.
Whitney read aloud from the note: “Hello, Savannah. We have your mother, Nancy. She is safe but scared. She will be held for ransom, and once payment is received, she will be released unharmed. We will be holding her for a maximum of seven days.”

Whitney said the note went on to demand the millions of dollars in U.S. currency and provided two deadlines. Sources previously told PEOPLE it specified two separate sums: $4 million in bitcoin due Thursday, Feb. 5, and if that was not met, an increased demand of $6 million by Monday, Feb. 9.
“Once payment is received to the Bitcoin address below, she will be released within 12 hours of deposit to a safe dropoff location back in Tucson,” Whitney continued, reading aloud.
“If the payment is not received by the last deadline on Monday the 9th at 5 p.m., she will be killed. Your mother is aware of this and her life is in your hands. It is in the best interest of everyone to have this completed as soon as possible. You will not be able to contact me from here on out. There will be no negotiation. Do not play games. Law enforcement will not be able to help you,” Whitney read.
