Savannah Guthrie shared a message of hope amid the ongoing search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie
The Today co-host’s March 22 message, posted on her Instagram and Facebook, comes two days after she returned to social media on March 20 after a three-week hiatus
Nancy was last seen on Jan. 31, after her family dropped her off at her home in Tucson, Ariz., and the search for the missing 84-year-old began the next day
Savannah Guthrie is staying optimistic as the search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, has entered its seventh week.
Guthrie, 54, shared a message of hope on her Instagram and Facebook accounts on Sunday, March 22, amid the ongoing search for her mom.
The posts featured biblical imagery with the text, “I believe, I believe.” She also shared the image and message on her Instagram Stories.
On the previous day, the Today co-host, her siblings Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie, and their spouses, shared a statement thanking the people of Tucson, Ariz., for their support.
“We are deeply grateful for the outpouring from neighbors, friends and the people of Tucson. We are all family now. We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case,” the family said in the statement, shared during the KVOA News 4 Tucson special Bring Her Home: The Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, which aired on Saturday, March 21.

The statement urged locals to come forward with any information pertaining to the case, “especially around the key timelines of January 31 and the early morning hours of February 1, as well as the late evening of January 11.”
The 84-year-old was last seen on Jan. 31 after her family dropped her off at her home in Tucson. On Feb. 1, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) launched an urgent search for her after she didn’t show up for church. Investigators believe Nancy was kidnapped overnight, citing surveillance footage of a masked man at her front door.
In their March 21 statement, the family shared a plea for Nancy’s return home, saying, “Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life. But we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest. Thank you for continuing to pray without ceasing.”
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a March 12 interview with NBC News that investigators believe they know the motive behind the kidnapping.
“We believe we know why [the kidnapper] did this and we believe that it was targeted, but we’re not 100% sure of that,” Nanos said. “I think day one, we had some strong beliefs about what happened, and those beliefs haven’t diminished.”
No other details were shared were shared about the potential motive.
Guthrie visited her colleagues at the Today show on March 5, which marked her first return since her mother went missing. “
While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home,” a Today spokesperson told PEOPLE in a statement at the time.
