The sister of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie had dinner with their mother, Nancy Guthrie, shortly before her suspected abduction on Saturday night, reducing the timeline to focus on, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told Us Weekly on Monday.
Given that Annie Guthrie was likely the last person to see their mother before she went missing, “we have a start point,” Nanos said. “The family took her home from dinner at about 9:30 to 9:45. So we would back that up to even say 9 or 8:30 p.m. to start looking.”
Annie Guthrie didn’t raise any “red flags” about the way her mother was acting during the get-together, Nanos said.
Family members were informed that the woman, 84, was missing around 11 a.m. the next day and police were called at 12:15 p.m.
So Nanos determined that “anywhere from 9:30 p.m. to 11 [a.m.]” as the time frame for when Nancy Guthrie disappeared.
“This is an 84-year-old lady who is safe in her own home asleep, and she is taken. That should never happen,” Nanos said to the outlet.
