Illinois State University School of Music alumni are warmly invited back to campus for Catching Up with Cookies, a casual pre-concert gathering held before select final spring ensemble concerts.
Join us one hour before each concert to reconnect with fellow alumni, reminisce, and satisfy a sweet craving before settling in for a great performance!
Alumni are welcome to attend any and all of the concerts listed below. As a special thank you, the first 20 alumni to RSVP for each concert will receive a complimentary ticket to that performance.
Catching Up with Cookies–Concert Options
Sunday, April 19, 3 p.m.
ISU Symphony Orchestra Concert (Samuel Chen, conductor), featuring student concerto competition winners Kahauri Brown-Givens (cello) and Alexandra Adrowski (flute), and Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome.
Wednesday, April 22, 8 p.m.
ISU Wind Symphony (Anthony Marinello, III, conductor), featuring student concerto competition winner Nicole Schmidt (clarinet) and John Chance’s Variations on a Korean Folk Song with the Metea Valley High School Korean percussion ensemble.
Sunday, April 26, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
3 p.m.: University Glee & Belle Voix Choirs (Andrew Bruhn and Tim Fredstrom, conductors), including a special performance of “For Good” from Wicked.
6 p.m.: Treble Choir & Concert Choir (Andrew Bruhn and Mark Grizzard, conductors), featuring Hye-Young Cho’s Azaleas, a new work commissioned by the Illinois State University Concert Choir.
